Ride Week

July 14 – 21 · while John's in town
Dan, Nancy, Craig — John Deluca (Joe's brother-in-law and the guy who got him riding) is visiting for the week. Join us for any of these.
← John's full week
How this works: nothing below is set in stone yet — it's the menu, not the schedule. Text Joe to claim a ride and it gets locked with a real meet time. It's a hot week (mid-90s through Friday), so rides start early or stay shady. Pace is conversational — this is a social week, not a training block. This page updates as things firm up; check back.

Ride Options

WednesdayJuly 15 · morningIdea
Minnehaha Creek → Mississippi Gorge loop · ~20 mi
Roll from Lake Nokomis, west up the creek, north on West River Parkway, back down the east side. Shaded nearly the whole way. Meet spot: Nokomis, exact point TBD.
ThursdayJuly 16 · morningPending
Coffee ride: Turtle Bread (34th & 42nd) + river road · easy miles
Short social roll to Turtle Bread in Longfellow — coffee stop first (meeting a friend there), river road extension after for anyone who wants more. Slowest ride of the week.
FridayJuly 17 · morningIdea
Chain of Lakes loop · 15–25 mi, choose your exit
Nokomis → Harriet → Bde Maka Ska → Lake of the Isles and back. Classic, flat, bail-out points everywhere. Could also flip to a Hidden Falls / Crosby Farm river ride on the St. Paul side.
SundayJuly 19 · morningIdea
Lazy lake loop · short and social
Recovery-pace spin, destination optional — possibly ending at the Aquatennial milk carton boat races at Bde Maka Ska, which are exactly what they sound like.
MondayJuly 20 · the big oneIn the plan
Brown's Creek + Gateway Trail from Stillwater · ~20 mi
Coolest day of the week. Park in downtown Stillwater, climb gently along the trout stream, out toward Pine Point and back. Downtown Stillwater to poke around after. Carpool/meet time TBD.
E-bike option: Herman's Electric Bike Rental at Greenbridge Coffee on Main St (right by the trailhead) rents for the day — ride this one with a battery if you'd rather. Joe's done it before; it works great on this trail.

E-bike test rides
John's thinking about e-bikes, so a test-ride stop at a Twin Cities shop could fold into any day — and Monday's Stillwater ride can be done on a rented e-bike from Herman's (see above). Shops TBD; suggestions welcome.
